OANDA & FXCM Integration

Trading apps, dashboards and automated execution on OANDA and FXCM APIs, with risk limits, safe order retries, reconciliation and monitoring, tested on practice and demo accounts before going live.

What a production OANDA or FXCM integration needs

OANDA and FXCM give you API access to prices, orders and account data. The harder work is what happens around those calls: price streams that drop, order requests that time out, rejected trades and positions that drift from the broker's records. We build trading apps, dashboards and automated execution for fintech teams, prop desks and traders who automate their own rules, with risk limits, reconciliation, practice-account testing and monitoring designed in. Your team owns the trading decisions.

AI-assisted, expert-led trading integration

How AI assists

  • Drafts typed API clients and contract tests from OANDA and FXCM API documentation for engineers to review
  • Generates edge cases to test: rejected orders, partial fills, market-closed responses and dropped streams
  • Reviews order, transaction and stream logs to surface anomalies and reconciliation gaps
  • Drafts error states and messages for rejected or delayed orders for designers to refine

What our experts own

  • Engineers own order logic, retries and idempotency, and how risk limits are enforced in code
  • Engineers map instruments, units and price precision across brokers, such as EUR_USD versus EUR/USD
  • API tokens, practice and live separation, and the go-live checklist are engineer-owned
  • Your team owns strategy and trading decisions; we build, test and monitor the system that runs them

How an order travels to OANDA or FXCM

Illustrative path for one order; your team owns the strategy and approves the limits it runs under.

  1. Price stream

Prices stream in with heartbeats; a missed heartbeat pauses new orders until the stream reconnects with fresh quotes.

  2. Order request

An order from your rules or a user gets a client ID and broker-specific instrument naming.

  3. Pre-trade risk checks

Position size, total exposure, margin and today's loss are checked against your limits before submission.

Checkpoint: Kill switch or breached limit blocks it

  4. Broker submission

Sent within the broker's rate limits; after a timeout, the client ID is looked up instead of resending.

  5. Fill or reject

Fills, partial fills and rejections from the broker's transaction records update positions and the order state users see.

  6. Position reconciliation

A scheduled job compares positions, balances and margin with OANDA or FXCM records and reports any mismatch.

Checkpoint: Your team reviews every reported mismatch

When something fails: Users see delayed or rejected orders marked clearly; stream drops, breached limits and position mismatches alert your team by push, email or SMS.

What you receive

What we build on OANDA and FXCM APIs

  • Price streaming with stale-feed checks

Streaming prices with heartbeat checks and reconnects. If quotes go stale, new orders are blocked and users see a clear warning until the feed recovers.

  • Order execution with safe retries

Market, limit and stop orders tagged with client IDs, so a timed-out request is checked against the broker's records before any retry is sent.

  • Risk limits and a kill switch

Position-size, exposure and daily-loss limits enforced in code, stop-loss and take-profit attached as your rules require, and a kill switch that halts new orders.

  • Historical data and backtesting

Candle data storage and backtests that account for spread and slippage, with their limits written down. Backtests inform decisions; they don't predict results.

  • Multi-account dashboard

Balances, margin, open positions and order history across accounts and sub-accounts, reconciled against the broker's records on a schedule.

  • Alerts and reconciliation reports

Alerts for rejected orders, margin thresholds, stream drops and position mismatches by push, email or SMS, plus reconciliation reports your team can review.

Prepare an integration that your team can operate

  • Access and inputs

Identify whether the connection is for OANDA, FXCM or both. Provide approved API access, practice accounts, instruments, order rules and the business owner who approves risk and position limits.

  • A realistic first scope

Scope each broker separately and test a specific price or order workflow in demo first. Instrument access and API behavior depend on the broker account. The software does not guarantee execution, investment returns or regulatory approval.

  • Handover and maintenance

We deliver the agreed connection, test evidence, configuration notes and recovery instructions. Assign an owner for alerts and reconciliation. Provider changes, credentials and ongoing monitoring can be maintained under an agreed support plan; provider charges remain separate.

How we build and launch a trading integration

  1. 01

    Access and requirements

Confirm API access on your OANDA or FXCM accounts, the instruments and order types you need, and the risk limits the system must enforce.

  2. 02

    Architecture and risk design

Design the price pipeline, order routing within the broker's rate limits, reconciliation and the kill switch, and what users see when an order is rejected.

  3. 03

    Build and contract tests

Build against practice or demo accounts, with contract tests for rejects, timeouts, stream drops and retries, and a review of every order path.

  4. 04

    Staged go-live and monitoring

Go live with conservative limits you approve, with alerts, dashboards and reconciliation running; then hand over or continue under a support plan.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a specific OANDA or FXCM account?

You need an account with API access. OANDA issues API tokens for practice and live accounts, and FXCM offers API access on demo and real accounts. What's available depends on the account type and the broker entity that serves your region, so we confirm access on a practice or demo account before design starts.

Can you build automated trading strategies?

Yes. We implement the rules you define: entries, exits, position sizing and risk limits. You own the strategy and every trading decision. We test on practice or demo accounts, document what backtests can't show, such as slippage, spread changes and liquidity, and add monitoring and a kill switch. We don't promise returns or performance.

What happens if an order request times out?

The system doesn't resend it blindly. It checks the broker's order and transaction records for the client ID attached to the order, then confirms the original or retries only if nothing was placed. Users see a pending state instead of a silent error, and any mismatch raises an alert and appears in the reconciliation report.
